Greenville launches Black History Month facts series
The city of Greenville has launched a Black History Month facts series to honor influential leaders, trailblazers, and historical moments. The series aims to highlight the contributions that have shaped the nation, the world, and the local community.
Mayor Errick D. Simmons emphasized the importance of recognizing Black history, stating, “Black history is American history. Black history is world history. It belongs to all of us, and everyone should join in the celebration.”
Throughout February, Greenville residents are encouraged to participate in learning and celebrating Black history and achievements. The city invites the community to honor the enduring legacy of Black excellence, resilience, and achievement.
The campaign is part of broader efforts to promote awareness and pride within the community, with hashtags including #BlackHistoryMonth, #GreenvilleMS, and #CelebrateAndLearn.
