Greenville kicks off Black History Month with series highlighting Black leaders and milestones

The City of Greenville is observing Black History Month with a series of facts highlighting influential leaders, trailblazers, and key moments. The initiative aims to recognize contributions that have shaped the nation, the world, and the local community.

Mayor Errick D. Simmons emphasized the importance of the celebration. “Black history is American history. Black history is world history. It belongs to all of us, and everyone should join in the celebration,” he said.
