Greenville Kappa Alpha Psi Celebrates Founders’ Day with Emphasis on Community Unity

Greenville, Miss. — The Greenville chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., celebrated its Founders’ Day on Sunday, February 22, 2026, under the theme “GMAK Continuing the Charge and Responsibility for Community Unity.”

Mayor Errick D. Simmons presided over the event, which featured reflections on the organization’s history, recognition of founders, and an inspiring keynote speech by Reverend Reginald Stanley. Music was provided by Marion Cork, and awards were presented to chapter and community service leaders.

In a statement, Mayor Simmons praised the fraternity’s efforts, commending Polemarch Senator Derrick T. Simmons, chapter chairman Eddie C. Brown, and the Greenville (MS) Alumni Chapter for their work in strengthening community bonds, investing in youth, and promoting servant leadership. Simmons also thanked members of the Zeta Zeta Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi at Mississippi Valley State University, as well as other Divine Nine organizations and community stakeholders, for their participation.

The event emphasized achievement across all fields of human endeavor and underscored the fraternity’s commitment to community upliftment in Greenville and the Mississippi Delta region.
