Greenville Council Creates Customer Service Role in Water Department

The Greenville City Council has approved the creation of a new Customer Service Representative position within the Water Department, aiming to enhance customer service and communication with residents. The move was approved by a majority vote, according to city officials.

Mayor Errick D. Simmons and council members said the new role is part of a broader effort to improve transparency and accountability in water department operations. The position is intended to reduce confusion over water bills, streamline communication, and boost operational efficiency.

In a statement, Simmons said the city is responding to residents’ concerns about water services. “We have taken decisive action to strengthen customer service within our Water Department,” he said. “This position is designed to improve communication, provide timely support, and ensure residents receive the attention they deserve.”

The city added that additional evaluations and improvements are planned as it continues to serve residents with a focus on excellence. The new Customer Service Representative position is now open, and interested applicants can contact the Greenville Human Resources Department at (662) 378-1566.
