Greenville continues Black History Month facts series
The city of Greenville is observing Black History Month by continuing its Facts Series, which highlights influential leaders, trailblazers, and key moments that have shaped the nation, the world, and the local community.
Mayor Errick D. Simmons stated that “Black history is American history. Black history is world history. It belongs to all of us, and everyone should join in the celebration.”
Throughout the month, the city encourages residents to celebrate, learn, and honor the legacy of Black excellence, resilience, and achievement. The series aims to foster awareness and appreciation of Black contributions to society.
Greenville’s initiative underscores the importance of recognizing Black history as an integral part of the broader historical narrative, according to city officials.
