Greenville Continues Black History Month Facts Series

The City of Greenville is observing Black History Month with a series of facts highlighting influential leaders, trailblazers, and key moments that have shaped history. The series aims to educate residents and honor Black excellence and resilience.

Mayor Errick D. Simmons emphasized the importance of recognizing Black history, stating, “Black history is American history. Black history is world history. It belongs to all of us, and everyone should join in the celebration.”

Greenville invites the community to participate throughout February as it celebrates, learns, and reflects on the enduring legacy of Black achievement. The city encourages residents to join the conversation using the hashtags #BlackHistoryMonth, #GreenvilleMS, #CelebrateAndLearn, and #OurHistory.
