Greenville Continues Black History Month Fact Series

The city of Greenville is celebrating Black History Month with a series of facts highlighting influential leaders, trailblazers, and key moments that have shaped the nation, the world, and the community, according to a statement from Mayor Errick D. Simmons.

Mayor Simmons emphasized the significance of Black history, stating, “Black history is American history. Black history is world history. It belongs to all of us, and everyone should join in the celebration.”

Throughout the month, Greenville residents are encouraged to learn about and honor the legacy of Black achievement, resilience, and excellence. The city’s series aims to foster awareness and appreciation of Black contributions across history.

The initiative includes social media campaigns using hashtags such as #BlackHistoryMonth, #GreenvilleMS, and #CelebrateAndLearn. Officials say the month provides an opportunity for reflection and education on the enduring impact of Black leaders and movements.
