Greenville concludes Black History Month with community celebration

The City of Greenville concluded its Black History Month facts series, which highlighted influential leaders, trailblazers, and key moments in history, officials said.

Mayor Errick D. Simmons emphasized the significance of Black history, stating, “Black History is American History. Black History is World History. It belongs to all of us, and everyone should join in the celebration.”

The city encouraged residents to continue celebrating, learning, and honoring Black excellence, resilience, and achievement throughout the month. The series aimed to educate the community about the enduring legacy of Black contributions to society.

Greenville’s observance of Black History Month included virtual and community events, with the city promoting ongoing awareness and appreciation for Black history and culture.
