Delta Compass Partners with PLS Program to Boost Mississippi Delta Development
Delta Compass is expanding its efforts to foster economic growth in the Mississippi Delta. The organization announced a new partnership with the PLS Program, which leverages the expertise of four former U.S. presidencies to benefit the region.
Recently, Delta Compass representatives spent several days with former President George W. Bush and First Lady Laura Bush. During the visit, President Bush emphasized the importance of organizational culture, stating that success depends on principles greater than individuals.
“The key thing in any organization is to understand the importance of culture. If the culture is based upon an individual, it fails, because we’re all fallible. If the culture is based upon concepts greater than an individual, it’s got a much better chance of succeeding,” Bush said, according to Delta Compass.
The organization aims to continue its efforts in economic and community development, highlighting collaborations with several local and regional entities, including the Mississippi Delta Regional Authority, the Life in the Delta Magazine Foundation, and the Mississippi Development Authority. Other partners include the City of Greenville, Washington County Economic Alliance, and the Mississippi Business Journal.
Delta Compass expressed optimism about scaling up its initiatives to benefit the Delta region’s communities and economy.
