Multiple cities in the Delta region have begun collecting food donations as part of the March of the Mayors 2026 campaign. The effort aims to support local food pantries and provide assistance to neighbors in need.

Participating cities are collecting specific items, including canned tuna in Clarksdale, peanut butter in Cleveland, canned green beans in Drew, canned corn in Greenville, canned fruit in Greenwood, and spaghetti noodles in Indianola, according to organizers.

The collected food will be distributed through partner organizations such as Clarksdale Care Station, Helping Hands Ministries, Drew Food Pantry, Hearty Helpings Food Pantry, Leflore Community Food Pantry, St. Vincent de Paul in Greenville, and Sunflower Ministerial Alliance.

Organizers encourage residents to stay tuned for updates on participating cities in their regions. More information is available at extratable.org/march, officials said.
