Coahoma County woman dies after rollover crash on Friars Point Road

The Coahoma County Sheriff’s Office responded to a one-vehicle rollover accident Tuesday on Friars Point Road, south of Dickerson Road, the sheriff’s office said.

Deputies found 46-year-old Marcel Thomas at the scene and immediately began life-saving measures. She was transported to Northwest Regional Medical Center in Clarksdale, where she later died from her injuries, officials said.

The sheriff’s office extended condolences to Thomas’s family and urged the community to keep them in their thoughts and prayers. Authorities also advised motorists to remain cautious while traveling, to share travel plans, and stay alert to their surroundings.
