The Coahoma County Sheriff’s Office has announced it received $100,000 in Law Enforcement Support funding through the 2025–2026 Community Project Special Appropriations. The funding was made possible by Congressman Bennie Thompson, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.

The money will support law enforcement operations and public safety initiatives across Coahoma County. Sheriff Mario Magsby Sr. leads the agency, which was one of only 10 counties in the district to receive the award.

Officials called the funding a significant achievement and a sign of the sheriff’s office’s commitment to effective service. They also thanked Thompson for his leadership and advocacy in securing the funds to strengthen law enforcement in the region.
