Authorities urge residents to avoid streets amid storm-related hazards

Authorities are urging residents to remain off all streets and roadways because of dangerous conditions caused by falling trees and downed power lines. The storm has made many roads impassable, and officials warn that conditions are extremely hazardous.

In case of emergencies, residents are advised to contact the Police Department at 662-843-3611. Officers are responding to incidents while facing the same dangerous conditions, and patience is requested.

Chief Dudley Tribble emphasized the importance of staying home and staying safe. He urged residents to allow the storm to pass before resuming travel.
