Arctic Cold Front to Bring Dangerous Temperatures and Wind to Jackson Area
An Arctic front is set to arrive in Jackson, Mississippi, tomorrow, bringing dangerously cold air and gusty winds, according to the National Weather Service.
The front will pass through the area tomorrow afternoon and evening, with cold temperatures continuing into the weekend. Wind gusts are expected to follow the front from tomorrow night into Saturday, increasing the risk of falling trees and limbs in areas previously affected by an ice storm.
Officials warn that damaged trees and limbs may fall during the wind gusts, potentially causing new power outages in areas where service has been restored after last weekend’s storm. Residents are advised to prepare for cold weather and have a plan in case of power loss.
