Body of female, child recovered after drowning death in Mississippi River

The body of a female and a small child were recovered after a drowing death in the Mississippi River over the weekend.

From Shelby County SO on Saturday night:

SCSO and other agencies are on the scene of a drowning at the Shelby Forest boat ramp. One person has been recovered from the water and pronounced deceased on the scene. Search and Rescue crews are still searching the river for a small child who reportedly went under water.

They followed that up with the following on Sunday:

SCSO has recovered the body of the missing child that disappeared in the Mississippi River Saturday evening. The identity of the child and the female found yesterday has not been confirmed.
